Alleging massive corruption in the conduct of recruitment examinations of the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC), scores of aspirants on Tuesday staged demonstrations in Bhubaneswar. Resentment is brewing among the aspirants after it was found that the question paper of JE (Civil) exam was leaked. Balasore Police had busted the racket forcing the OSSC to cancel the exam.

On July 23, the OSSC cancelled the Main Written Examination for JE (Civil) conducted on July 16 after Balasore SP had confirmed the question paper leak. The Commission has also rescheduled the examination to September 3.

On July 30, scores of aspirants had also staged a demonstration in Bhadrak alleging that the seal of the question paper of ULB Accountant examination was tampered.

“We do not have faith on OSSC chairman and Odisha Government. We want a CBI probe into the entire recruitment scam as we do not have faith on Odisha Police inquiry,” alleged an aspirant.

The aspirants alleged that question papers are being leaked at regular intervals and the Commission is playing with their future.

“When the Balasore Police busted the racket, OSSC subsequently cancelled the JE (Civil) main examination. We suspect that the government posts are being sold. We do not know whether there is complicity of OSSC staff in question paper leak, but we transparency in conduct of examinations,” said an agitator.

Congress leader Bijay Patnaik said, “The youths do not have jobs and there is no question of merit if question papers of recruitment exams will be leaked. If jobs are being sold for money, it is not justified. It is the responsibility of Odisha government and OSSC to ensure complete transparency.”
