Supporters of the Move Forward party burned effigies at the Pheu Thai party headquarters on Phetchaburi Road this afternoon, in protest against the party’s break from Move Forward.
Initially, supporters from the “United Front of Thammasat and Demonstration” group rallied at the party’s HQ, to urge it stay united with Move Forward and the other coalition partners until the term of the senate expires in mid-May next year, so they can form a government.
When they learned that the Pheu Thai had withdrawn from the coalition, in an effort to try to form a government without the Move Forward party, the mood of the demonstrators changed significantly.
Some burned the effigies, while the others tried to break into the party’s HQ.
More protests are expected from supporters of the Move Forward party.
